The Science & The Truth

Sexy LegsFor years, scientists, doctors, and researchers have been unable to accurately determine what causes cellulite and therefore, have not been able to accurately treat it. The term “cellulite” was first coined in the 1920’s and the first research on it wasn’t done until 1978 .

Recent research has finally identified the causes of cellulite: HORMONES.

Your hormones dramatically impact the formation of fat and connective tissues under the skin which is what comprises cellulite .

This makes sense, since fat accumulation around the hips and thighs of women plays a direct role in pregnancy and lactation. The first trigger in the Hormonal Cellulite Cycle is estrogen. So it’s no wonder so many women noticed cellulite for the first time during puberty.

The primary function of estrogen is to deteriorate collagen in the cervix during delivery to allow the baby to pass through.

Why is this important? Collagen packs fat cells. When collagen breaks down these fat cells spread out towards the soft surface of the skin, expand, and this is what forms the dimpled appearance of cellulite.

If this is a natural hormonal process and vital for procreation, why do so many women get cellulite and why do some have it worse than others?

Keep this in mind: the root cause of cellulite is a high estrogen level.

The Hormonal Cellulite-Cycle

  1. Estrogen acts on fibroblasts
  2. Fibroblasts act on collagenase
  3. Collangenase breaks down collagen surrounding fat cells
  4. Collagen strands deteriorate around packs of fat cells
  5. Fat cells now spread out toward soft tissue surface of skin
  6. Loose fat cells also expand and multiply near skin surface to form cellulite appearance

So why do some women have cellulite worse than others? It must be that some women are able to control their estrogen levels better than others! Those individuals who have been lucky enough not to have been drawn into the Hormonal Cellulite Cycle have most often done so by sheer luck.

The million-dollar question is: what are they doing that you’re not?

But before we get into that, let’s stop any of the costly and sometimes dangerous ways you might be attempting to solve the problem, which may could be making it worse.

These 3 reasons reveal what so-called solutions you must stop doing, because they are actually contributing to more cellulite build up…and how you can exactly reverse the process.

#1. You don’t need to waste money on phony cream cures.

Those who treat cellulite as a skin condition don’t understand the root cause of cellulite (it’s a hormonal issue) and therefore and only offer temporary results.
Did you know that the cosmetic industry spends a paltry 2-3% of their revenue on actual research & development of fat-burning cellulite creams and yet spend a whopping 25% on advertising and promotion?

There is no scientifically proven research that conclusively backs up the grand claims cosmetic companies make about their cellulite creams and fat-burning pills.

The big marketing executives at these multi-billion dollar businesses use advanced psychological tactics to fuel the fear of looking unattractive as much as on the desire to be beautiful to manipulate women that an inferiority complex can be remedied by a pill or potion.
The problem is that you are not solving your hormonal imbalances, which are driving the Cellulite Cycle and so more lumps and bumps will accumulate as time passes…

#2. Costly and sometimes painful aesthetic treatments do not cure cellulite and in some cases can worsen it

There is a whole host of treatments that claim to solve cellulite. Here’s a breakdown of each and an explanation of what they actually accomplish:

Wraps, Topical Herbal Treatments – claims to and may increase nutrient absorption in some instances, but they do not treat the root causes of cellulite and in reality, there no benefit to the appearance of one’s cellulite
Suction, Rolling, Pressure Devices – is actually quite dangerous and can damage the already weakened skin making one’s cellulite look even worse! For the ones that DO notice a difference over 8-12 treatments (and thousands of dollars), the cellulite returns later once the estrogen levels start affecting the cellulite cycle again. There goes more money down the drain…

Circulation Improvement and Lymphatic Drainage – doesn’t treat cellulite, rather it treats the symptoms; poor circulation and capillary pressure. Sorry, this isn’t the answer either. This is like saying using Kleenex tissue will cure a cold.

Collagenase Blocking Agents (Bioflavonoids specifically proanthocyanidins) – These compounds stop the cellulite cycle, but they are not a cure. They can at least stop cellulite build up. The first obstacle with this option is these are very expensive compounds.

The second issue is, you are not treating the root cause of cellulite so you can never truly solve the issue. It is like taking cough syrup for the flu. It makes you feel better, but it is not until the virus passes that you are cured.

Unfortunately, cellulite, unlike a flu virus, will not pass without you taking some specific action, which we’ll explain shortly.

Surgery/Liposuction – Damages the skin and may actually worsen cellulite build up. Again, this is a costly treatment that won’t solve your cellulite issue.

There is so much misinformation around cellulite, it is so very difficult to know what to do. You must understand that it’s not your fault. The multi-billion dollar food industry confuses you with claims about phony health foods and you end up eating things that only make your body look worse. The beauty industry meanwhile spends billions convincing you on phony cures. It’s a negative cycle leaving you penniless and feeling badly about how you look.

Is this the industry you should be buying into? I think not.

#3. Worthless exercise gadgets and expensive gym memberships are NOT the answer

Specific exercise training methods can reverse estrogen levels and thereby reverse the Hormonal Cellulite Cycle.
