Exercising is a skill. To their detriment, many people don’t even think about it. How many times have you started a new exercise program and you just don’t get the results? Have you ever been injured from exercising? If you answered yes to either of these questions you should check out the video below.
Do You Think Exercise Is A Skill?
Exercising is most definitely a skill. Particularly as you get older it is important to learn how to do the most basic body weight exercises such as squats, push ups, crunches, etc. with perfect form. Whether from inactivity or muscle tightness, many people will do these exercises poorly and risk serious injury.
Poor form = no results
Besides, if you are not working the muscles as they should be worked you are not developing the muscles the way you want them to develop i.e. you are wasting your time. It is no wonder you have had limited results from past efforts. It is not surprising you may have injured yourself. The good news is, it’s not your fault and you can remedy the situation.
Using good form requires being mentally present when you exercise. You can’t let your mind wander while you do the movements. That bad habit is for people that don’t really desire to transform their bodies. Afterall, as with anything in life, you get out what you put into it.
You can watch videos and read books to learn how to do exercises to perfection. Watch yourself in the mirror as you do your exercises and look for the proper cues as you do the movement. If you have the resources hire a personal trainer for a few sessions to get the movements down right. Whichever way you learn best there are the resources out there to help you.
