How To Do It: The Marching B

  • This is a challenging exercise to learn but if you take the time to learn it you will reap big rewards
  • Begin by raising the right knee to hip level with each stride. As the knee approaches hip height, extend the knee by reaching the lower leg and foot forward to near full extension (your entire leg should end up being parallel with the ground). If going to hip height is too challenging at first, you can do the movement at a lower level. Over the weeks ahead as you develop strength and flexibility, slowly challenge yourself to raise the height with which you can do this drill until you are at hip height.
  • Allow your momentum to carry your body forward, and strike the ground in a pawing motion with the ball of the right foot six inches in front of the left foot, or in other words, almost under your hips. Then repeat the same motion with your left side and move forward in a slow marching tempo.
  • This isn’t about covering a lot of ground quickly so take your time moving forward!
  • Your head and torso should be upright, keep your shoulders and face relaxed
  • Move your hands in a cheek-to-cheek motion; no higher than the cheek of your face and not further back than the cheek of your booty

As you get better you can eventually try this in a skipping motion. As with many sprint drills, it doesn’t look like all that much but you sure can feel its positive effects the next day. Lastly, remember sprint drills are also making you more coordinated and graceful. These are benefits you just can’t get from most typical exercises. So give this a try and let us know what you think.

You might still be asking how do I get rid of cellulite? Well the main secret is to keep your body in a good hormonal balance. You see cellulite begins with a series of reactions in the body that begin with your estrogen levels being too high. The way to keep your hormones in balance is through diet and exercise. Specifically, you need to do the right kind of exercise that not only develop all the muscles in the legs but cause the body to have a good hormonal response. In terms of nutrition, dairy has high amounts of estrogen whereas studies show that contrary to popular belief soy looks like it keeps estrogen levels moderated. So you have to be informed about what foods are good for your hormonal balance. For example, research shows that moderate cardio such as jogging can actually raise hormonal cortisol levels which has been show to encourage fat storage around the mid-section. This is not the kind of exercise to get you the legs you desire.

I wish something like this would work for me but I have tried everything I can think of including diet and exercise and it doesn’t get rid of it at all. I have even tried the creams that they market telling you that it will dry it up basically and nothing happens. Thank you for doing this post and I truly hope that it works for most people not like me.

  2. Jacqueline says:

High profile persons may have personal trainers, plastic surgeons and Photoshop, but Cameron Diaz, Eva Longoria, Posh and Elle MacPherson also owe their lack of lumps and bumps to their own little diet and exercise tricks. I think many people can save themselves so much frustration by accepting the reality that it takes work in order to battle the bulge and the cellulite that goes along with weight gain. I think it takes commitment and diligence to transform your body.

  3. John says:

What is difficult to believe is that this cosmetic condition affects nearly 90% of women at some point during their lives, even women who are otherwise slender and fit. As common as cellulite is, you can’t deny that there is an awful lot of misinformation out there about what it is, what causes it, and how to get rid of it. Unfortunately, you can’t just dismiss this as occasional nuisances and wait for them to get better on their own.

  4. Karen says:

I am not sure that cellulite can naturally be gotten rid of once you have it. I have seen some very skinny people with it and you wouldn’t think that would be possible, so I think this is something that has to be surgically removed. Now if you have proof that this will work I will try it but others wise I am throwing good money after bad.

  5. Roberto says:

I discovered a site that was giving away a care package of a prize, an at-home lipo massage and lift massage device that works on your body to smooth cellulite, firm skin and help sculpt stubborn areas. On the face, it helps to diminish fine lines and wrinkles and restore definition (think turkey neck). I wonder if devices like this really work. I think there is something to be said about separating the fatty tissue from the skin, no?

  6. Roberto says:

Getting rid of cellulite is like getting rid of that pouch that women sometimes get after having a baby. It is so hard that you begin to think it is impossible to get rid of. I am hoping that something like this works because I have tried everything I can think of and it seems to get smaller but it doesn’t go away at all. I guess surgery will be the next step for me.

  7. Preston says:

I hope this stuff works because I am going to be finding some to order because I have cellulite on my legs that I can’t get rid of either. It is amazing to me that even the diet and exercise won’t really get rid of this stuff. Where does it come from and what causes it in the first place? I’ve seen people that weren’t over weight at all with it so is it fat?

  8. Curtis says:

There’s an old myth that only overweight women are prone to cellulite. I used to believe that this is false, but now I know better. I also used to believe that slim women may have such an affliction, for example as a result of hormonal changes. But this too is yet another in the long line of myths that get spread about this much misunderstood subject matter. I don’t want to hear about anymore rumors. I want the facts.

  9. Joan says:

It is hard to believe that a staggering 90% of women have cellulite, and every last one of them doesn’t want it. Though cellulite is little more than a cosmetic nuisance, and there really isn’t a magical pill or cure, that doesn’t stop American consumers from forking over $60 million plus annually on creams, procedures, and other treatments. It is a good thing that there is something you can do about it. It’s called exercise.

  10. Jose says:

There is so much talk about cellulite. Like your nosy aunt, it’s annoyingbut also a nearly unavoidable part of life. What stinks about the whole thing is that anybody can develop this pesky skin situation: And from what I was surprised to have learned so far is that it appears when collagen fibers that bind fat to the skin stretch and tear, allowing fat cells to expand.

  11. John says:

If it is true what dermatologists say about the medical cause of cellulite, then it means that topical products can’t fix it, but they can make skin look less rippled for a few hours. A thick cream, which “traps in water and plumps skin so dimples don’t look as deep, and an anti-cellulite product with caffeine to tighten skin by constricting blood vessels. I still believe in the old tried and true solution: exercise.

  12. Preston says:

Cellulite is one of those words that becomes instantly contagious. Once one woman in the room complains about her thighs, it’s just a matter of time before another chimes in about her rear end. Whether or not any of the ladies’ complaints have merit (and, according to some of the studies I’ve come across while surfing, they usually do), dimpling of the skin is a huge source of insecurity for women of all sizes.

  13. Andrew says:

Preston you are absolutely right it is a sore spot for all women because we have been made to believe there is a certain body type in the society today that is acceptable and we are all striving to achieve that body type whether it kills us from starvation or not. There is such a double standard in America when it comes to how women are supposed to look.

  14. Waylon says:

Heavy or thin, young or old, cellulite is an equal opportunity swimsuit nightmare. Once I learned more about the actual medical condition of cellulite and what it is, I began to liken it or to buttons on an old mattress. Cellulite is like connective tissues gone awry … pulling down in some places and pouching up in others. Perhaps that is the best way to think about it. It also begs the questions, how do you treat it? Is it really treatable?

  15. Carl says:

It is but natural for people to find ways to be more attractive and hide their flaws like cellulite, and as they search for treatment options, the medical field has no choice but to look for solutions as well. With today’s technology, it is now easier to find answers to any problem. However, though advancements had been made, cellulite myths still abound today. Updating yourself with the right facts can help you deal with this problem.
