Jogging Is For The Lazy

How many overweight joggers do you see running every day? Do you think this is a coincidence? It just so happens that all of these people have decided to begin to get in shape recently? The truth is jogging doesn’t build great bodies.

So why do it? Because it is a heck of a lot easier than sprinting and strength training.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve jogged in the past and I’ll do it in the future, but it is a very limited part of my exercise routine. In fact, for me it is seasonal. In my opinion long distance running wears down the joints of the body.

Jogging Is Easier Than Sprinting Or Strength Training

I do enjoy jogging though because it’s a great way to clear your mind. That’s why it’s so much easier than sprinting or strength training. The other two forms of exercise require so much more mental focus, awareness, and determination than jogging.

When you sprint you need to be hyper-focused on your form, aware of what your body is actually doing, and making adjustments all along the way.

Strength training also requires you to be laser focused on your form and requires a great deal of mental intensity to drive the body to work harder so you can become stronger and actually cause your body to change.

Here’s an absolutely necessary if you want great legs. This exercise that will not only allow you to develop great legs, but it will also give you great glutes as well. Be sure to focus on having perfect form for each and every rep. After a while you can begin to mentally relax once you start to unconsciously do the exercise perfectly.

Bulgarian Split Squats

Now joggers will say that particularly in long-distance runs that there is a great deal of mental strength required. This is true. But there is nowhere near the kind of in-the-moment focus required of jogging that is necessary to sprint well or get stronger.

That’s why the mentally lazy jog or run on the treadmill. With fitness you will get out of it exactly what you put into it.
