Learn To Do Full Pushups

Are doing full pushups difficult for you? What’s a full pushup in the first place? It when you do a pushup (whether on your toes or your knees) and you go all the way down so your chest just brushes the ground and then back up. Can you do pushups like this?

For many people going all the way down is too difficult so they end up just doing half pushups. But there is a way to develop the strength to do full pushups and in a rather short amount of time.

Learn To Do Full Pushups

Get Stronger Going Down

You can get better at doing any exercise by doing the negative or eccentric portion of the exercise. For pushups that when you are actually descending to the bottom of the movement. If you do this negative portion of the exercise as slow as you can, and completely eliminate doing the up or concentric part of the movement, you will be surprised how quickly you develop the strength to do full pushups.

When you have mastered doing pushup from your knees, keep doing the negatives from your feet. Pretty soon you will be popping off full pushups with no trouble at all.

Pushups For Abs?

If you think about it pushups are really just a plank where you move up and down with your arms. Now when you plank you should be flexing your abs and glutes as hard as you can. What do I mean by flexing as hard as you can? Flex your abs and glutes as if someone was about to punch you in the stomach.

Now imagine doing full pushups while flexing your core this hard…how incredible an exercise do pushups become then? It becomes and amazing core and upper body exercise. Sure it will be challenging, but that only means it’s going to give you results, give you the transformation you want.
