Want great legs? Then it’s time to take things to the next level with this sure-to-deliver routine. Whether you are a jogger looking to step it up, have only used body weight exercises to date, or even sling big weights under a barbell, this routine can improve anyone’s results. So what is the best home leg workout?

Well if you want to ramp up the intensity there is nothing like adding a little weight to your exercises so this routine is an incredible dumbbell leg workout. You can find great body weight leg workouts but dumbbells will get you the results that much faster.

Sculpting the Legs

A great leg routine has to work every part of the legs as well as the hips and even the core to some degree. Besides, who doesn’t want a spectacular booty and rock-hard abs to go along with those great legs?

The difference between “okay” legs and “holy-God-up-in-heaven-where-did-those-come-from!!!” legs is all in the subtleties. Slight curves here and there give your body that “WOW” factor. Those slight curves come from developing muscle and that only comes from getting stronger.

To break it down, you need to work the quadriceps, hamstrings, glutes, lower back and abdominals and work them well.

Want quadriceps that get noticed

There are two things you want to develop with your quadriceps. First is that subtle line of definition when looking at your legs from the side where you can see where the quadriceps stop and the hamstrings start.

Secondly, when looking at the legs from the front you want a slight sweep to the outer thigh. So it isn’t straight as a razor, rather it pleasantly curves. This is referred to as the “sweep” of the thigh.

Have hamstrings that look great from the back

The all too often ignore hamstrings should really have a full look and pop from the rear view. Most people have very underdeveloped hamstrings. Pumping them up will also greatly reduce the appearance of cellulite on the back of the legs.

Develop Glorious Glutes

We all want a nice butt and truth be told, if you don’t engage your glutes properly when doing leg exercises you just won’t get the benefits. You want to develop both the bottom and top of the glutes to really give your butt a lifted-look.

Have a lower back that makes your butt and legs look even better

Nothing accentuates an incredible butt than a tight strong tiny lower back. It gets overlooked so often, but how well the top of your butt look is always in contrast to how your waist looks…and your lower back is half of your waist.

What is the VM muscle and why should I care?

What’s the VM you ask? It’s that teardrop-shaped muscle that overhands the knee. Building this muscle just enough so it occasionally appears as you move makes the legs stand out even in a mid-length skirt.

Ooooh yeah…abdominals

Any time you body has to stabilize extra weight (the dumbbells) during these full-range leg movements your abs are getting worked. Not just the cute six-pack but all those underlying abdominal muscles that actually support your spine. Want great abs? Work your legs with weights.

When all these little curves are developed it gives the body and incredible flow in its shape and appearance. These details are the things that make one’s legs, butt, and mid-section have an almost hypnotic quality.

So now let’s get down to brass tacks…how do I get incredible legs like these…

The Best Dumbell Leg Workout

What is the best home leg workout? It starts with adding some weight to the exercises (dumbbells), keeping the repetitions high (12 reps or higher), and working each and every muscle in the leg. Leg respond best to high repetition and high volume training so you have to put in the work to get the results.

But once those results come won’t you be oh-so-happy you did the work. Best of all you can be proud you did it yourself. It’s like they say, nothing worth having ever comes easy.

Keep your cheat meals limited to one day a week.

  1. Waylon says:

This manual or ebook about the best leg workout on the planet sounds almost as impressive as the female trainer in the photo. She has some spectacular legs and she is easy on the eyes, too. I wonder if it is possible to get legs like her in a relatively short period of time, like say 60 to 90 days. I was doing a home fitness workout routine and I was able to transform my body in 90 days.

  2. Robert says:

These are some impressive and inspirational photos of persons who have taken the time and effort to build toned, muscular legs. I believe you can minimize and even eliminate cellulite from your body. It just takes consistency and the determination to stay the course. With the road map, in this case, a manual like the one being promoted on the banner ad, you only need to follow the plan and continue the routine which eventually turns into a habit and then a way of life.

  3. Curtis says:

All of these photos are very inspirational. I have pretty muscular legs from years of weight lifting, but I wish I could inspire my friend to workout and develop legs and a body like the women in these photos. This leg workout is no doubt great for both men and women, but especially for women who are struggling to get rid of cellulite. We know that this is a major problem for females and this workout plus a good diet can solve the problem.

  4. Nanette says:

Leg workouts are certainly much more challenging than working out any other body part. That is because when you workout your legs, you are using other major body parts as well. If you are doing squats, you are also using your back, gluts and hamstrings. The only other two workouts that are just as difficult are chest and back workouts. In any case, you have to be willing to just do your best and forget the rest. Just showing up Is half the battle.

  5. Ella says:

They say that if you’ve lived beyond a fourth decade, you are very susceptible to getting a torn meniscus. That’s because after 40 years of wear and tear, the cartilage on your knees wears down. Well, that’s exactly what happened to me at age 43. After years of heavy Squatting and running one of mine tore. But I also realized that this also happened because I stopped working out my legs, thus the support muscles around my knees got weak. This was a contributing factor. Yet another reason to strengthen my legs with this workout.

  6. Florene says:

Leg workouts have always been one of my favorites because it happens to be the biggest muscle I have on my body, I was a sprint runner in school so I have always had large legs in the first place but when you can define them they look really good. I have always heard that the best all around leg work out is the squat because it works everything.

  7. Allen says:

I like that a couple of established trainers have taken their knowledge of fitness and nutrition to the internet for the world to benefit from. Legs are a very important issue with most women who struggle with cellulite. I appreciate the video because it provides me with some ideas to implement certain leg exercises into my fitness routine. I would like to see a video with an entire 20 or 30 minute routine that keeps the heart rate elevated.
